During the 1960's era -- Ms. Eular Davis and Mr. William Webster (Derron Davis, grand parents) -- would get married and settle in West Perrine, FL. Fast forward thirty years later (1990's era) -- his father Darren Davis and uncles Eddie, Troy and Jason Davis -- would do something one household has never done high schook history. All four brothers would led the county in rushing yards and put Miami Southridge football program on the map.
Eddie Davis (#1, Left Pictured) set the bar extremely high for his younger brothers (Troy, Darren and Jason) as the county rusher leader in (1991). Troy and Darren (Davis) would accept the callenge and both rush for over 2,000 yards -- as the county rushing leaders and captued two state championships. The youngest of the four, Jason Davis (#1, Botton Right Pictured) kept the tradition alive, as the county leading rusher in (1999) -- rushing for 1,764 rushing yards and 22 TD's on 131carries.
His uncle, Troy Davis (#28, Right Pictured) is the first NCAA (D1-FBS) running back, to rush for over 2,000 yards in back-to-back seasons at Iowa State and was the 1996, Heisman runner-up.
His father, Darren Davis (#28, Left Pictured) was the first player in Iowa State history to rush for over 1,000 yards three times in a career.
Derron Davis older brother, Christopher Columbus freshman RB Darren Davis, Jr. (#6, Left Pictured) was named to the Generation Nexxt' Class of 2019 All-South Florida 1st Team and already holds an FBS offer from Iowa St. Darren ranks Top 25 in South florida in rushing yards, fresh out of the Pop Warner and not to mention, he splits the carries..
Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree -- Miami Xtreme Youth Football League, West Kendall Dolphins RB Derron Davis -- is dominating the youth ranks. His team is currently undefeated and this past Saturday's playoffs game vs. Miami Shores Spartans, Derron helped his team advance further into the playoffs. Derron has over 25 touchdowns this fall and he's an all-around student-athlete.
