By Jonah Woullard
(October 16, 2010)-The Miami Gardens Cowboys 110’s have just served the South Florida Youth Football League notice, that they are the new sheriff in town. The Cowboys have outscored their opponents, 167-18 which is no easy task playing in the SFYFL.
The Cowboys have finished the regular season with an unbeaten record at 9-0, and capped off the regular season by defeating their neighborhood rival, The Miami Gardens Vikings who were also unbeaten coming into the highly anticipated match up.
The Miami Gardens Cowboys’ 110 LB team is head coached by Coach Teddy Dinson, who is also the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator. The quick striking Cowboys’ offense is called by Coach Corvin Lamb Sr. who truly believes that speed can and always will dominate a game. Cowboys’ assistant coach, Darius Lawshea is also a head coach of Miami Gardens Xpress track program who has brought the track to the grid iron.
Coach Darius is proud of the fact his players has excelled at both track & field and football. Some of the players are that are dominating both sports on Cowboys’ roster are running back, Marquis Decious #2, defensive end Dawun Hylton #1, tailback Camrin Lamb #5, quarterback De’andre Miles #9, and running back Joshua Dinson #3.
Coach Ted feels this team can play with any 110 LB. in the state and is willing to take on any and all doubters. The next couple of weeks, the Cowboys will have to prove they can play with the best of them, because this is now the SFYFL playoffs, which means, either bring your “A” game, or go home! One thing that we know the playoffs will reveal, “Is there really new sheriff in town?”
