MIAMI GARDENS SENDS TEN TEAMS TO THE SFYFL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

By Jonah Woullard

(November 19, 2010)-The City of Miami Gardens is sending nine teams to the 2010 South Florida Youth Football Championships this coming Sunday (November 21, 2010) at Lockhart Stadium. The tenth team which is the Miami Gardens Raven Pee Wees, head coached by William Bouie, has already won the 2010 Pee Wee SFYFL championship game and has set the tone for the rest of the Miami Gardens’ teams.

The SFYFL Champions will kick off the day at 8 AM featuring two of Miami Gardens’ finest teams, The 70 LB Miami Gardens Vikings vs. The Miami Gardens Cowboys. The Vikings are head coached by William Alexander and holds an unbeaten record. The Cowboys with only one loss this season is head coached by Chavis Wright, who looks forward to a rematch with the only team that has ever beat them.

Second game will feature the 80 LB Miami Gardens Ravens, head coached by Derrick Sutherland who has only lost one game all season. The Ravens will match up against the undefeated Ft. Lauderdale Hurricanes for the rights to be named Super Bowl Champ.

The third game will feature the 90 LB Miami Gardens Ravens, head coached by Melvin Robinson, who has only loss one game as well. And like the game before, the Ravens will line it up against the Hurricanes for championship bragging rights.

The fourth game will feature the 100 LB Miami Gardens Ravens, head coached by Rod Mack, who has only loss one game all year. That loss was to their opponent this Sunday, against the Lauderhill Lions. The Ravens are looking for redemption, will they get it? Find out Sunday at the Big Show.

The fifth game will feature the Miami Gardens Cowboys, head coached by Teddy Dinson, who has remained unbeaten all year, and looks to continue that streak against the Deerfield Rattlers this Sunday in the Super Bowl.

The sixth game will feature the undefeated 120 LB Miami Gardens Vikings, head coach by Terrence Yancy, who has been on an offensive roll all year. The Vikings will look to continue that roll, but will face their biggest rival, the Northside Panthers who gave them their toughest fight this year in an overtime defensive showdown.

The seventh game will feature the Miami Gardens Ravens 135 LB team, who has been on a winning streak since entering the SFYFL last year. The Ravens, which is head coached by Ira Whitehead, will look to continue their streak against a strong NW Broward Raiders team this Sunday.

The night will end with one of the highest scoring teams and arguably one the best youth football players in the state of Florida who plays The Miami Gardens Vikings 165 LB team. The Vikings are head coached by Kirk Thomas and are unbeaten on the year. The Vikings will face off with Deerfield Rattlers for some Sunday Night Football.

As you can see, The City of Miami Gardens has to be proud of putting an excellent product out on the field. Whenever you can place a team in every weight divisions’ championship game, that truly speaks volumes of your city’s programs. Just to give you an idea just how dominate these teams have been, the combined record of the Miami Gardens teams in the championships against their opponents this year is 112 wins to only 4 losses.

Generation Nexxt would like to congratulate each and every team that has made it to the Super Bowl, and also congratulate the city of Miami Gardens for placing ten teams out of nine games in the SFYFL championships.
