Rising Star: A student-athlete, I'm first to highlight and also, believe he's the next headline student-athlete, with the athletic ability to standout in both high school and on Saturday's and possible Sunday's.
Florida Int' University (Modesto A. Maidique Campus) -- has a special defensive student-athlete on their campus ground and no -- he's not a college athlete -- how about two levels lower -- yes a youth football athlete. The Tamiami Colts, midgets safety Nicholas Graham is the top safety and most natural and fundamentally sound safety -- I have seen this season.
Nicholas does an excellent job -- flipping his hips, sprinting and finding the ball. He was responsible for (5) interceptions this season. From the stance, back pedal and pursuit angles -- run and pass, he's more advance than a number of high school safeties. He's also a balance defensive back, meaning he can play both the pass and the run. He's a big hitter and tackles very well. The hard hitter, caused (2) fumbles and finished second on his team in tackles.
Nicholas, helped his team and all three phases of the game. He scored touchdowns on offense at wide receiver and special teams, returning both kicks and punts for touchdowns. He reminds me of Reggie Nelson during his days playing for the Florida Gators. A large majority of youth free safeties, has a bad habit standing 10-yards back and just look around for the ball, but not this young man. Nicholas, helped his team captured the 2015-2016 Pop Warner Division 2 National Championship.
