THE AYFL’S BEST WILL PLAY FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP
By Jonah Woullard
November 13th will go down in history as seven teams will be crowned American Youth Football League’s Super Bowl champions. The excitement is already in the air, as the respective teams go through their final preparations to play the most important game they have played all year.
The AYFL championships will be held at PAL field in Plantation Florida with the first game kicking off at 9:00 AM. The first game will be a familiar team to the Pee Wee championships, the PPO Bengals Pee Wee Team, which will be taking on the North East Rebels. Both Pee Wee teams come in the super bowl, undefeated. One of these two teams will experience their first loss of the season, unfortunately for one; it will be the game that counts.
The 90 LB match up will consist of the Cooper City Cowboys who have handed their super bowl opponent, the PPO Bengals, their only loss all year. The Cowboys feel they just have to play with the same intensity they played with earlier this year, but the Bengals have redemption on their mind. This definitely will be an exciting match up.
The 100 LB game has the makings of a thriller, with two teams that have excelled in the playoffs, The Coral Springs Chargers will face the PPO Bengals. Expect to see exceptional speed on both sides of the ball, as both teams have top flight running backs and lighting fast linebackers.
The 110 LB game features one of the top ranked teams in the state, The Weston Warriors. The Warriors will find themselves facing their same opponent from the 2009 championship game, which the Warriors won. That opponent is the well coached West Pines Wildcats. Look for this game to come down to execution of plays, because both teams have some of the best coaching in the game.
The 120 LB game will is gearing up to be an electric match up. The Plantation Wildcats will face off with the undefeated PPO Bengals. Both of these teams have quick strike capabilities with outstanding quarterback play and strong running games. Look for the defense to step up and win this one.
The 135 LB game will be one of the most intense games of the day, The PPO Bengals come in the Super Bowl with a strong winning streak, while the Plantation Wildcats have been dominating their opponents. Two teams full with talent, but the old saying is, “Someone has to win and someone has to lose.”
Finally the unlimited game will be the highlight of the night, as the high scoring Coral Springs Chargers will take on the undefeated Plantation Wildcats. All we can tell is get your pop corn ready!
Congratulations to all the teams that have made it to the big show, you all have been Rated G! Generation Nexxt hopes to see you all at the parks…
